Hello everyone! We are one day closer to setting foot in Carnegie Hall!! The choir had a wonderful rehearsal this morning. Several of the choir members who are familiar with the solos had the opportunity to sing them in the rehearsal. They had a great time! Dr. Caldwell is super effective and efficient in rehearsal, so we worked on expression in several of the other movements that we didn’t get to yesterday. Man, what would we do without Professor Adkins. She is very attentive and doesn’t miss a beat! We ran the work from top to bottom today and we are ready to move into the space tomorrow. It is wonderful to see so many different age groups and skill sets work together to create one voice that is living and expressive.
Today several of us went the Modern Museum of Art! We saw the original “Starry Night” and an original Pollok painting!! There were a few tears shed. Later in the evening we went to see Misty Copeland in Giselle with the American Ballet Theater at Lincoln Center! I love that NYC exposes its audience to so many different art forms. The best of the best in one place! I can’t wait to visit again. I heard that a few of the students found a shop that serves cookie dough in cones and cups! It was a hit!
